In 2010 Transylvania County Law Enforcement started a program to ensure under privileged kids get something for Christmas. The program, called "Cops 4 Kids", takes these kids on a shopping trip at Christmas. The program is funded entirely form donations and fund raising events throughout the year. The Transylvania County Sheriff's Office along with the Brevard Police Department, put on a motorcycle ride in September as one of these fund raisers. This year the ride will be on September 29th, and riders will gather at the Kmart parking lot. registration will be from 10:00am till 12:00pm. The ride will follow closing of registration on a predetermined route. Registration fee is a $20.00 donation per vehicle. Street rods and trucks are welcome. there will be food from 11:am - 3:00pm.
