Sergeant Jimmy Jones supervises the Court Security section and is responsible for providing security in and around the Transylvania County Courthouse, the Transylvania County Administration Building and providing court officers/bailiff's for each courtroom. Sergeant Jones has been with the Sheriff's Office since March of 1986. He is a native of Cedar Mountain where he still lives today. Sergeant Jones served as the Court Officer from March of 1986 to August of 1995 when he transferred to the School Resource Officer position at Brevard High School. In July of 2006, Sergeant Jones was transferred back to the Courts as the Court Security Sergeant. Sergeant Jones holds Advanced Law Enforcement Officer Certification from the Sheriff's Training and Standards Commission, S. B. I./D. C. I. certification (statewide computer system), and Intoxilyzer 5000 certification (breath testing instrument). Sergeant Jones also serves as the Webmaster for this website. He is also a Life Member of Cedar Mountain Volunteer Fire/Rescue.
